INDIANA, PA \u2013<\/strong> Excitement is running high for the 2017 edition of the American Racer Cup presented by Sunoco Race Fuels as \u201cpre-season\u201d registration hits hew heights.<\/p>\n

Once again, racers at 13 tracks spanning four states \u2013 New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware \u2013 benefit from the Cup, with $51,450 cash earmarked for Modified and Sportsman competitors in addition to thousands in tire giveaways and other product.<\/p>\n

The overall American Racer Cup Sportsman and Modified champions are determined by a driver\u2019s best twelve (12) finishes at their respective home track and car count bonuses issued at year-end. Individual track champions will be calculated in the same manner.<\/p>\n

There is a unique twist this season, however, for the Insinger Performance-sponsored North and South regional point battles, with the institution of American Racer Cup Challenge events.<\/p>\n

Drivers\u2019 best 12 finishes at their home tracks, car count incentives, and bonus points from newly announced American Racer Cup Challenge events will determine the regional champions.<\/p>\n

American Racer Cup Challenge races will be select events on the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP schedule offering 25 bonus points to the winner, back to 10 for last and five for those unable to qualify. These bonus points are applied solely to regional totals. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Modified American Racer Cup Challenge events are as follows<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

North \u2013<\/em><\/strong> Accord (N.Y.) Speedway \u2018Battle of the Bullring 5\u2019 Monday, July 3 and \u2018Hustlin\u2019 the High Banks 53\u2019 at Woodhull (N.Y.) Raceway Tuesday, August 22<\/p>\n

South \u2013<\/strong> Bridgeport (N.J.) Speedway \u2018South Jersey Shootout\u2019 Sunday, April 23 and \u2018Diamond State 50\u2019 at Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, Del., Thursday, May 25<\/p>\n

Modified regional point funds, paid to both North and South separately, are: 1) $1,000; 2) $750; 3) $500; 4) $350; 5) $250.<\/p>\n

Sportsman American Racer Cup Challenge events are as follows: <\/strong><\/p>\n

North \u2013<\/em><\/strong> Afton (N.Y.) Motorsports Park Wednesday, June 21 (Crate only) and Skyline Raceway in Blodgett Mills, N.Y. Tuesday, July 18 (Open)<\/p>\n

South \u2013<\/em><\/strong> Delaware International Speedway Thursday, May 25 and Big Diamond Speedway in Minersville, Pa., Tuesday, June 6.<\/p>\n

Sportsman regional point funds, paid to both North and South separately, are: 1) $500; 2) $400; 3) $300; 4) $200; 5) $100.<\/p>\n
