MILLSBORO, DE <\/strong>\u2013 Time is running out for competitors to register for the 2022 American Racer Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Racers who are planning on competing at any of the 13 American Racer Cup tracks in the Modified or Sportsman division can enter. Registration is open to competitors through May 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018Winning with Weekly Racers\u2019 program got its start in 2010 with Duane Howard<\/strong> of Oley, Pa., taking the inaugural Modified championship as a representative of Pa.\u2019s Grandview Speedway. Three years later, the Sportsman division was added and Jordan Watson<\/strong> of Milford, Del., was the first champion for that division utilizing Delaware International Speedway (Delmar, Del.) as his home track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modified participating speedways in the \u201822 American Racer Cup are as follows: in New York \u2013 Accord, Afton, Five Mile Point, Fonda, Outlaw, Utica-Rome and Woodhull; in Pennsylvania \u2013 Big Diamond, Grandview and Penn Can; in New Jersey \u2013 Bridgeport and New Egypt; and in Delaware \u2013 Delaware International.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sportsman participating speedways in the \u201822 American Racer Cup are as follows: in New York \u2013 Accord (Crate), Afton (Crate), Five Mile Point (Crate), Fonda (Crate), Outlaw (Crate), Utica-Rome (Crate) and Woodhull (Crate); in Pennsylvania \u2013 Big Diamond (Crate), Grandview (Open) and Penn Can (Crate); in New Jersey \u2013 Bridgeport (Crate) and New Egypt (Crate); and in Delaware \u2013 Delaware International (Crate).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American Racer Cup ranks drivers by their 10 best finishes at each participating home track. If a driver competes at more than one home track, they must be registered separately for each track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finishes begin being tallied on April 15. The final day points can be earned toward the \u201922 American Racer Cup is Sept. 5.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American Racer Cup weekly point breakdown is as follows: 1) 60; 2) 55; 3) 50; 4) 48; 5) 46; 6) 44; 7) 42; 8) 40; 9) 38; 10) 36; 11) 34; 12) 32; 13) 30; 14) 28; 15) 26; 16) 24; 17) 23; 18) 22; 19) 21; 20) 20; 21) 18; 22) 16; 23) 14; 24) 12; 25) 11; 26-28) 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the season, a starting field bonus is issued to competitors based upon the number of cars starting feature events at their participating speedway from April 15 to Sept. 5.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top-15 Modified competitors share a $36,000 point fund, with $10,000 going to the champion. The top-15 Sportsman competitors will share a $6,750 point fund, with $1,000 allocated to the winner. There are additional bonus dollars available through Insinger Performance in the North Region ($5,700 for Modifieds and $3,000 for Sportsman).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total cash scheduled to be distributed in \u201922 is $51,450.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
